SEPTEMBER, 2017 Show & Tell - Quilt Challenge Reveal

Our challenge this year was to make a quilt 24 x 24 inches using our initials. The first initial was the primary color, the second the block pattern and third initial
quilting motif. Congratulations to our winners: Best use of color - Kim Ratchford, Best Quilt Block Choice - Rose Pellatt, Besting Quilting Motif - Bob Bourguignon, Easiest to ID Owner - Sabrina Meyers and Viewer's Choice - Sandy Wheeler.

Mickey designed this make-up bag and embroidery as a gift! Aren't crafty people the best gift givers ever!

Our new member Jeanette made this quilt that she is hoping to sell, and it is beautiful!

Beverly made this for a 4-year old, with left over fabrics from their parents' quilt!

The prairie points are an added fun "touchy feely" activity!

AUGUST 18, 2015 SHOW & TELL

EA Cox made this gorgeous Modern style quilt with self-made fabric free-style strips and a gray background.

We encouraged EA to bring this quilt back again for our November meeting when our speaker will talk about Modern quilts!

Beverly made this great quilt using college colors for her class example for Quilting 101, a class she is planning for October.

The squares appear to float on the white background. Beverly plans a two session class in October to teach this beginner quilt.

Kate showed several things she had made, her tote bag, place mats and napkins for her mother-in-law...

and a hand stitched "Quilt" design, that she didn't say how she was going to use(?)

We had several guests this month for our meeting, and one returning guest even brought a guest with her!

This meeting was very well attended!

Toby made this quilt for her very lucky 12 year old granddaughter!

Welcome back to Sharon Barnes who hasn't been to Guild in awhile! She brought a lovely baby quilt, that had Flannel on the back (I think).

JUNE 16, 2015 SHOW & TELL

Robin Parton showed us many beautiful quilts she had made including this New York Beauty...

Robin admits that she enjoys paper piecing, so this is a technique that she will probably do again in some form!

Here is a dynamic quilt top from Veronica Moriarty, showing variety in New York Beauty patterns!

Veronica made this quilt top in a QSC class with Kimberly Einmo in Charleston this Spring.

Mickey Murray Moor made this table runner using heat resistant batting in the center sections, for a hot-pad feature!

Sabrina shows the group an example of a quilt top made for a Habitat for Humanity homeowner, which a volunteer will quilt!

These were the blocks of the month made in April.

Renee demonstrated how to fold our fabric, so it appears we have a curved flying goose!

Yvonne completed her jacket made on a sweatshirt base, in our Guild's class. She added buttons...

and pockets! Then she displayed the lovely oriental cranes on the back which were trapuntoed!

Evelyn won these blocks in Landrum, and quilted this quilt which she may donate!

Gail Adams won these Blocks of the Month and made a beautiful quilt, which was quilted by Evelyn Kellogg!

Gail also tried sewing some baskets...a great Spring project!

Toby Mercer completed her set with a table runner!
